Cyclones try to slow Ryan Tannehill, Aggies

? Texas A&M’s offense appears to be hitting its stride, scoring 100 points in its last two games.

That’s bad news for struggling Iowa State (3-3, 0-3 Big 12), which hosts the Aggies today.

The Cyclones have given up 37, 49 and 52 points in successive league losses to Texas, Baylor and Missouri, which have wiped out a promising 3-0 start.

Iowa State will need to shut down Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill to pull off the upset. But Tannehill was at his best in last week’s 55-28 win over Baylor, throwing for 415 yards and a career-high six touchdown passes — four to Ryan Swope.

Texas A&M (4-2, 2-1) still believes it is in the mix for the Big 12 title before it shoves off to the SEC in 2012-13.
