K-10 ramps at Eudora’s Church Street exit to close Friday night for repaving

Drivers looking to enter or exit Kansas Highway 10 at Church Street in Eudora overnight Friday may want to chart an alternate route.

Beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, crews plan to close one set of ramps — either on the westbound side or the eastbound side — to all traffic, to allow for resurfacing work. Once crews finish one side, they would reopen the ramps and switch to the other side of the highway, where those ramps would be closed for resurfacing.

All ramps will be expected to reopen by 6 a.m. Saturday.

The work will not require any lane closures along the highway, said Kim Qualls, a spokeswoman for the Kansas Department of Transportation.

The work is part of a larger project to resurface the highway east from the eastern edge of Lawrence to the Johnson County line. Perry-based Hamm Construction is handling the $4.3 million job, scheduled to be finished in early November.
