From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for Oct. 17, 1971:
The N. R. Hamm Co. had recently begun work on a planned 18-acre shopping center in Perry. The new "Perry Plaza" was to be located on a site adjacent to Perry-Lecompton High School, south of U.S. 24. Plans also called for a 100-unit mobile home park adjoining the shopping center. Final plans were not yet complete, but the shopping center was said to "definitely" contain a Bob's IGA supermarket, a Standard service station, and a new facility for the Bank of Perry.
