Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical workers extricated a 37-year-old Lawrence woman from a vehicle after a rollover accident Monday morning near Clinton Parkway and Crossgate Drive.

The accident was reported at 10:15 a.m. in west Lawrence. Sgt. Matt Sarna, a Lawrence police spokesman, said the driver of a 2000 Dodge Durango — Michelle King — was headed south on Crossgate Drive and attempted to make a left turn onto eastbound Clinton Parkway when the rear tires of her vehicle spun out and she lost traction. The vehicle spun around and struck the median before it rolled over onto the passenger side.

King, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Sarna said. LMH spokeswoman Belinda Rehmer said King was treated and later released Monday. Sarna said Monday afternoon police were still investigating the cause of the accident and had not written any citations.

Whaaat! Rear wheels spun out and she lost traction; please explain further! Sounds like she was going too fast to make the turn

First rain in how long ? slick streets and the 2000 Durango is crap for rear traction on wet surfaces, why we got rid of ours first time it spun out as well....

I'm very happy that Ms. King was wearing her seat belt, otherwise she might still be in the hospital!
