Woman treated at hospital after rollover accident in west Lawrence

Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical workers extricated a 37-year-old Lawrence woman from a vehicle after a rollover accident Monday morning near Clinton Parkway and Crossgate Drive.

The accident was reported at 10:15 a.m. in west Lawrence. Sgt. Matt Sarna, a Lawrence police spokesman, said the driver of a 2000 Dodge Durango — Michelle King — was headed south on Crossgate Drive and attempted to make a left turn onto eastbound Clinton Parkway when the rear tires of her vehicle spun out and she lost traction. The vehicle spun around and struck the median before it rolled over onto the passenger side.

King, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Sarna said. LMH spokeswoman Belinda Rehmer said King was treated and later released Monday. Sarna said Monday afternoon police were still investigating the cause of the accident and had not written any citations.
