Event in Washington, D.C., to honor Dole, benefit institute

Two former U.S. presidents will serve as honorary chairmen of an event in Washington, D.C., honoring former U.S. Sen. Bob Dole, R-Kan.

The gala fundraising event, “A Salute to the Leader,” featuring presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton as honorary chairmen, is scheduled for 6 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Chamber of Commerce Building in Washington.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell will serve as honorary co-chairmen for the event.

Bob and Elizabeth Dole are scheduled to be in attendance for the event. Tickets are available for purchase at salutetotheleader.com. Proceeds benefit the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics on the Kansas University campus.
