Water main break reported in Eudora

A water main break in Eudora on Thursday evening shut down part of Church Street for a few hours.

Church Street was closed between 11th and 12th Street after the break occurred around 5 p.m. Thursday evening, according to EudoraReporter.com.

According to Public Works Director Mike Hutto, crews finished repairing the break around 8:45 p.m. Thursday.

Several residents had reported low to no water pressure during the evening hours.

“We had to open up several hydrants in the area to relieve the pressure to fix the break,” Hutto said.

Several residents also reported that there was some water discoloration running through the taps.

Usually with a water main break, nearby homes will experience lower water quality because of the break and as lines flush after the repair, water color returns to normal.
