? Kansas University golf was in 12th place out of 15 teams Monday on the first day of the Johnie Imes Invitational.

Thanuttra Boonraksasat led the Jayhawks with rounds of 77 and 75 and was tied for 30th place. Michelle Woods scored the Jayhawks’ lowest round of the day, a 73 in the second round.

Kansas coach Erin O’Neil said she knows KU, which at 615 sits 30 points behind tournament leader Texas State, has a lot of ground to make up in the third and final round today.

“It will be vital for us to fight for each shot until the final putt drops on Tuesday,” O’Neil said. “We also need to make the best possible choices throughout the rounds so that we put ourselves in position to succeed.”
