The westbound exit from I-70 to the Lawrence service station is closed and may remain closed for several more hours, Turnpike authorities said.

The ramp was closed after a non-injury accident dislodged a barrel of sand, obstructing access. Crews were sent out and working on clearing the ramp as of 11 p.m.

The closure did not affect the eastbound access ramp to the service area or any of the exits from the Turnpike.
