25 years ago: Neighbors of the Outhouse complain of noise, traffic

From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for Nov. 27, 1986:

On the eastern edge of town, what was fun for some folks was proving a headache for others. Neighbors of the “Outhouse,” a building just east of Lawrence which was rented out for parties, had been complaining about noise, litter, and traffic on some recent nights. Douglas County Administrator Chris McKenzie said that the county commission was looking into ways to address their concerns, including implementing parking restrictions along county road 1500N. The Outhouse was able to operate without approval from the commission due to a loophole in the zoning regulations.
