4-H news for November 26, 2011

The Lone Star 4-H club met Nov. 14 at the Lone star Church of the Brethren. President Rachel Sanders called the meeting to order. Maelee Folks was initiated into the club. Brevin Flory and Mary Kate Shultz led the club in singing, “Down by the Bay.” Roll call was answered by 14 members, and the minutes from the October meeting were approved as read.

The club agreed to donate $75 to “Toys for Tots.” The club also agreed to adopt a needy family as a community service project. The club will shop for items together and wrap them at the next meeting.

The club held their annual club recognition ceremony. Members earned awards for club membership, county 4-H pin awards, good attendance, record book completion, and serving as an officer. The ceremony was led by club leaders, Teresa Flory and Mandy Shultz. The meeting was adjourned by saying the club pledge and motto.
