Jayhawk Audubon Society to discuss the health of Kansas’ reservoirs

The health of the Kansas reservoirs will be the focus of tonight’s Jayhawk Audubon Society’s meeting.

Seven experts will talk about the problems these reservoirs face, particular the accelerated rate of siltation that is occurring. The talk will have an emphasis on Clinton and Perry lakes.

The speakers, most of whom represent government agencies, will share results from studies that have been done on small lakes and the implications the data has for larger reservoirs. Legislative policy and budget concerns will also be discussed. The talk will include time for questions.

The meeting will be held at 7:30 tonight at the fellowship hall of Trinity Lutheran Church, 1245 New Hampshire.
