Extension and 4-H news for November 12, 2011

The Vinland FCE will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Vinland United Methodist Church, 1724 N. 692 Road, Baldwin City. Hostess will be Mary Lou Brown. Paula Johnson will give a lesson on arranging dried flowers.

The Four Leaf Clover 4-H Club met Oct. 10 in the Dreher Building at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. A guest showed the club a video about Citizenship Washington Focus. President Ryal Mitchell called the meeting to order and led the club in saying the flag salute. Twenty-five members were present. Community leader Paula Aiken informed the club the Nov. 14 meeting will be in the north end of the Dreher Building. She also said the Bromelsick Christmas Party will be Dec. 2. During new business, the club decided to Adopt-a-Family. The club also decided the theme of their Festival of Trees tree will be “Peace, Love and Christmas.”

The 59ers FCE will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the home of Kathy Mulinazzi, 4505 Woodland Drive. Co-hostess will be Rosemary Cromer. Mulinazzi will present the lesson, “Noodles.”
