After a quality weekend of racing, three Haskell runners were recognized for qualifying for the NAIA National Cross Country Championships.
Junior Thomas Zunie and freshman Talisa Budder won their respective races Saturday at the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference. Freshman Brannon Wallace also qualified, finishing second for the men. The three were honored at halftime of the men’s basketball game.
Zunie has experience in the NAIA championships in the marathon for track, but this is his first cross country meet at nationals. As freshmen, this will be Budder and Wallace’s first national meet, but they have received various MCAC awards.
The meet will take place Nov. 19 in Vancouver, Wash.
