Eudora man, 29, enters no-contest plea in string of burglaries

One of three defendants accused in a string of Eudora burglaries pleaded no contest to 11 criminal charges Wednesday, including three felonies.

In July, police linked David A. Thomas, a 29-year-old Eudora resident, to 18 burglaries of vehicles and sheds along with two other Eudora residents, Leah D. Thomas, 29, and Joseph L. Klebenstein, 19.

David Thomas pleaded no contest to three felony charges, including two counts of burglary of a motor vehicle and one count of burglary of a non-dwelling, and eight misdemeanors.

As part of a plea agreement, Douglas County prosecutors agreed to drop eight other criminal charges against him.

He is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 13.
