Area high school football roundup: Eudora donuts De Soto; Wellsville still undefeated

Eudora — Eudora High controlled field position throughout the game and shut out De Soto (6-4) for the second time this season, 12-0, in the high school Class 3A state football playoffs on Tuesday.

The Cardinals (9-1) will travel to Basehor-Linwood (10-0) Saturday for regional play.

Chris Pyle rushed for 125 yards on 17 carries, and quarterback Derek Webb scored both Eudora touchdowns, the first a 10-yard run in the second quarter.

In two meetings this season, Eudora outscored De Soto 20-0.

Blue Valley Southwest 27, Baldwin 6

Overland Park — Baldwin High’s football season ended Tuesday as the Bulldogs dropped the final two games of the season.

Baldwin fell to Blue Valley Southwest in the Class 4A bi-district playoff round. The Timberwolves scored 20 unanswered points to finish the game.

Quarterback Tyler Cawley scored Baldwin’s only touchdown. He ran one yard for the score.

Baldwin ended its season with a 6-4 record.

KC Piper 28, Perry 21

Kansas City — Perry-Lecompton tied the game at 21 in the third quarter, but Kansas City Piper scored the winning touchdown in the fourth on a 68-yard run by Paul Jones.

Jeremy Immenschuh scored the first touchdown of the game in the first quarter for Perry-Lecompton (7-3) on a 13-yard run, but Piper (7-3) scored the next three touchdowns before Perry tied it.

Immenschuh led all rushers with 148 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries.
