Maize capped its undefeated baseball season with a 10-0, run-rule-shortened victory over Blue Valley West in the Class 6A state championship game Saturday at Hoglund Ballpark.

The Eagles (25-0) opened the game with two runs in the first. They added two in the fourth and piled on six in the sixth inning to end it early.

Last season, Maize lost in the state championship to Blue Valley.

The Jaguars (15-10) committed four errors after not committing any in the semifinals against Lawrence High.
