Sabetha man sentenced in attempt on wife’s life

? A rural Sabetha man already convicted of killing an Atchison County woman will serve almost six years in prison for also trying to kill his wife.

Roger Hollister was sentenced Monday to five years and 10 months in prison for the attempt to kill Rebecca Hollister. He had been charged with first-degree murder, but pleaded no contest in April to aggravated battery and aggravated intimidation of a witness.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that prosecutors say Rebecca Hollister was an extremely uncooperative victim.

Hollister is serving life in prison without parole in the death of Patricia Kimmi of rural Horton.

Prosecutors say that in February 2010, Hollister drove into the path of a semitrailer on U.S. 75 while arguing with his wife over Kimmi’s death.
