Lawrence Habitat for Humanity collecting items for habitat homeowners in Joplin

Lawrence Habitat for Humanity is taking donations of items needed by habitat homeowners in Joplin, Mo., which was struck by a deadly tornado on Sunday.

It’s not clear yet how many Habitat homes were damaged.

The local habitat will collect items through 4 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at its office, 720 Conn., said Tracie Howell, executive director.

Here’s what’s needed, according to information provided by Habitat for Humanity officials in Joplin: medical supplies (first-aid items); non-perishable food items; baby food; baby formula; diapers; batteries; blankets; towels; toiletry items; toilet paper; flip flops (new please).
