Teenage gunman pleads guilty in Topeka drive-by shooting death

? A Topeka man admitted that he fired the shots in a drive-by shooting that killed a man standing in his driveway.

Eighteen-year-old William Kevon Elmore Jr. pleaded guilty Wednesday to reckless second-degree murder in the death 22-year-old Forrest “Duke” Sanders of Topeka.

Sanders was standing in his driveway talking to his stepfather when he was hit by a bullet in a barrage of shots fired as a vehicle drove by.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that Elmore admitted Wednesday that he was the one in the car who fired at Sanders. Prosecutors say the shooting was the result of a feud with another man, who is charged with first-degree murder in the case.

Elmore will be sentenced June 30.
