Walk-off slam sinks KU, 11-7

? Oklahoma’s Ricky Eisenberg smashed a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning, pacing the Sooners to an 11-7 victory over Kansas University on Sunday at Mitchell Park.

The home run off Colton Murray (2-3) was the first of the season for Eisenberg and was the first walk-off home run for the Sooners since a 7-6 victory over Oral Roberts in the first game of the 2010 NCAA Tournament.

Senior Brandon Macias hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning off OU closer Ryan Duke which tied the score.

It followed Chris Manship’s leadoff homer in the same inning.

OU’s Eisenberg finished with six RBIs. KU junior Zac Elgie hit three doubles, which tied a KU record.

In sweeping the three-game series, OU improved to 35-13 overall and 13-9 in the Big 12. KU, which has lost eight straight to OU, fell to 22-27, 9-15.

The Jayhawks fell into a tie for ninth place in the league standings after both Oklahoma and Nebraka won their Sunday games. KU has five walk-off losses in league play.

The Jayhawks will entertain Alabama A&M at 6 p.m. Friday at Hoglund Ballpark. After four games in three days with AAM, KU will conclude the regular season with a three-game set against Kansas State.
