Terry Mohajir, senior associate athletic director at Florida Atlantic University, has been hired as Kansas University’s associate athletic director for development and marketing, KU AD Sheahon Zenger announced Sunday.

Mohajir, who worked as football assistant offensive line and game-day special team’s coach at KU from 1993-96, will assume responsibility for the Williams Educational Fund. He will also direct the marketing and game-day experience staffs. He will begin his duties May 31.

Mohajir also was a football ticket sales and promotions account executive for KU athletics from 1996-97 and earned a master’s in sports management at KU in 1997.

“We are excited to welcome Terry back to the KU family,” Zenger said. “He has earned great respect through his professional accomplishments, but what matters as much to me is his breadth of experience here at KU. He earned his master’s degree here, so he is familiar with the academic side of campus. He also coached and gained experience in ticket sales and marketing.”

Mohajir at Florida Atlantic oversees development, marketing, ticket sales, corporate sales and the media relations department. Mohajir graduated from Arkansas State University in 1993.

“After meeting Sheahon Zenger and hearing his vision for KU athletics, I couldn’t resist being a part of his aggressive plans for the program,” Mohajir said. “We have a lot of work to do and strong leadership in place to accomplish big goals.”
