Sooners cruise to 12-1 victory

? Kansas University managed just seven hits and committed four errors in a 12-1 Big 12 Conference baseball setback to 10th-ranked Oklahoma on Friday at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

After its worst league loss of the season, KU fell to 22-25 overall, 9-13 in the Big 12. OU improved to 33-13 and 11-9.

Jimmy Waters led Kansas with two hits, including a solo home run.

Oklahoma starting pitcher Michael Rocha tossed seven innings to record his ninth victory of the season.

The series will continue with a single game at 2 p.m. Saturday.

In other KU baseball news:

• Senior outfielder Casey Lytle has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 7 First Team.Lytle, a double-major in finance and business, has a cumulative grade point average of 3.66.

• Due to conflict with class schedules, KU canceled its away game at Arkansas-Little Rock scheduled for Tuesday. The Jayhawks will make up the game by playing a doubleheader with Alabama A&M on May 14 beginning at 2 p.m. at Hoglund Ballpark.
