South Carolina police identify remains found in 2009

? Detectives have identified skeletal remains found nearly two years ago near Conway, S.C., as belonging to a man who had been shot in the head.

Horry County police said Friday that the remains found in September 2009 have been identified as 33-year-old Todd Lee Christians.

Authorities say an anthropologist determined they belonged to a white man who had been shot in the head.

In July, detectives were able to create a facial reconstruction of the man and sent some of the remains for mitochondrial DNA testing. Some of that testing resulting in a DNA match through Kansas state prison records.

Authorities say Christians was last known to be in the Myrtle Beach area in December 2007. No arrests have been made in his death.
