Orchards junior league: A junior golf league for boys and girls ages 10 to 14 will start at 9 a.m. on June 8 at the Orchards. Play will continue until school starts. Trail races: The Lawrence Trail Hawks will host the second-annual “Hawk 50-Mile and Marathon Trail Runs” on May 14 on Clinton Lake’s North Shore Trails. Willow walk and run: The Willow Domestic Violence Center will host the Walk a Mile In Her Shoes: Red Shoe Walk and 5K on at 6 p.m. Friday at Haskell Stadium. This event is to raise awareness of domestic violence in the Douglas, Franklin and Jefferson counties. Proceeds will help fund the maintenance and programming of the Willow's Safe Shelter, the cost of which totals approximately $1,332 per day. Participants may register to run the 5K or walk the stadium walk, and walkers are encouraged to wear women’s shoes. Registration is $25 and includes an event T-shirt.
