I-70 reopens after nails spill onto westbound lanes at Kansas River Bridge

The westbound lanes of Interstate 70 at the Kansas River Bridge were shut down Thursday morning after a pallet of nails fell off a truck bed and spilled onto the highway.

Kansas Turnpike Authority spokeswoman Lisa Callahan said the accident happened at 6:05 a.m. just east of mile post 202.

Callahan said at least four cars received flat tires before crews could close the highway to clear the scene.

I-70 re-opened just before 9 a.m.

No one was injured.
