Workers return to Kansas City GM plant after explosives scare
Kansas City, Kan. ? Employees are being allowed to return to the General Motors Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kan., after they were evacuated because of a report of an explosive device.
Police said the device was determined not to be explosive.
GM evacuated about 1,200 employees early Friday as a precaution after a suspicious device was reported at the plant.
Kansas City, Kan., police sent a bomb squad to investigate. Sgt. Emmitt Lockridge said investigators determined the device was not a bomb, and employees were being allowed to return to work.
