Public memorial set for KU dance professor

A public memorial service for Kansas University dance professor Janet Hamburg is scheduled for 3 p.m. April 2 in the Spencer Museum of Art auditorium, 1301 Miss.

Hamburg, an internationally known movement analyst and lecturer, died in September.

She was involved with local and national Parkinson’s groups after developing an exercise program for people with Parkinson’s disease. The program was distributed internationally by the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation in New York and recommended by Parkinson’s foundations.

A dance scholarship fund in her name has been established at the KU Endowment Association.
