Michigan high school basketball team will still play in state tournament after death of teammate

? A spokeswoman for a high school in western Michigan says it will participate in a state tournament game Monday, four days after its star basketball player hit a winning shot and then collapsed and died from a heart ailment.

Holly McCaw says the decision was made Saturday after officials talked to the family of 16-year-old Wes Leonard. The undefeated Fennville High team also held a practice.

Fennville will play Lawrence High in the first round of a district tournament Monday. The game was supposed to be played at Lawrence, but will be played instead at Hope College in Holland to handle a larger crowd.

Leonard made a basket Thursday to give the Blackhawks a victory over Bridgman High. He died because of cardiac arrest due to an enlarged heart.
