Sheriff’s Department surveying roofs of county buildings from helicopter Friday
Douglas County Sheriff’s Department will be surveying the roofs of several buildings today.
The surveyed buildings will include the Judicial and Law Enforcement Center, 111 E. 11th St.; Douglas County Jail, 3601 E. 25th St.; Building 21 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, 2120 Harper St.; and Douglas County Youth Services, 330 Industrial Lane.
The contractor for the project, Infrared Concept Corp., will be flying a helicopter over the buildings during the day and at night.
The day flight is scheduled from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the night flight from 9 p.m. to midnight, though high winds and other weather could delay the operation.
The day flight will be at 3,500 feet with one pass at 1,000 feet, and the night flight will be at 2,500 feet and higher.
