Sluggers fall, 2-0

? The K.C. Sluggers summer league baseball team was blanked, 2-0, on Friday against the Decatur Commodores at the Decatur Commodores Woodbat Invitational.

The Sluggers ran into Commodores starting pitcher Derek Thompson, who was selected in the 29th round of the MLB draft by the Minnesota Twins. Thompson, a left-hander, routinely threw 90-91 mph.

Garrett Cleavinger took the loss for the Sluggers, pitching 42/3 innings and striking out six.

The Sluggers (7-6) will face the St. Louis Gamers at 2 p.m. today in the woodbat invite.
