Hutchinson ? Reno County authorities say a body recovered in Cheney Lake matches that of a missing 16-year-old Haven boy.

Officers from the state’s Wildlife and Parks division used a boat with sonar to find the body about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday near Wichita Point.

Reno County Sheriff Randy Henderson says in a news release that the body matches the description of Danny Thomas Allen but the Sedgwick County Forensic Science Center will confirm the identity.

Allen disappeared Monday when a wave pushed him into deeper water. His brother and a friend tried unsuccessfully to rescue him.
