Branson, Mo. ? The Kansas City Sluggers, a summer league baseball team made up primarily of Lawrence High and Free State players, took second place at the Diamond Sports Invitational over the weekend.

On Saturday, the Sluggers defeated Columbia (Mo.), 11-3, in the semifinals before falling in the finals to Bloomington (Ill.), 7-4.
