Police arrest Wichita man in fatal hit-and-run

? A Wichita man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident in which the driver fled with the victim on the roof of his van.

The Wichita Eagle reports that that the suspect was arrested Friday and released early Saturday. He’s accused of driving for about three miles with the victim’s body on top of his van after crashing into him early Friday. The 32-year-old victim’s named has not been released.

The suspect is in his 60s, and was arrested on charges of failing to stop at an injury accident. It was unclear Saturday if formal charges were filed.

Police said the victim had been working near the street when the minivan struck him. Witnesses who saw the minivan driving with the victim on the roof called 911.
