K.C. Sluggers sweep

? The Kansas City Sluggers won two games Friday to reach the semifinals of the Diamond Sports Invitational.

The Sluggers, a member of the Premier Baseball League that has 30 teams nationwide, defeated Springfield (Mo.) Kickapoo, 10-3 in six innings, and then took down the Southwest Illinois All-Stars, 10-5.

K.C. will play in the semifinals at 2 p.m. today against the Southside (St. Louis) Baseball Club at College of the Ozarks in Branson, Mo. The championship game, should the Sluggers advance, is set for 4:30 p.m.

In Game 1, Jake Vinoverski went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and 5 RBIs, while Bryce Montes de Oca pitched 41/3 innings and struck out nine to earn the victory.

In Game 2, Montana Samuels went 1-for-3 with a home run, while Devin Garcia pitched 61/3 innings and struck out eight to earn the victory.
