Oskaloosa woman taken to LMH after being struck by driver who ran stop sign

A 42-year-old Oskaloosa woman was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with minor injuries Tuesday morning after a two-vehicle accident before 8 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 1029 and County Road 438, known as the Farmers Turnpike.

Lewis said that Kail Marie, 45, rural Lecompton, was driving a northbound Jeep and that she ran a stop sign on 1029 road and struck a southbound car driven by Karyu Todd, 42, of Oskaloosa. Todd was taken to LMH, and Marie received a ticket for failing to stop, Lewis said. Both drivers wore seat belts.
