The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for Douglas County. The watch goes into effect Sunday at noon, and is scheduled to last until 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Excessive heat warnings are issued when the combination of high temperatures and humidity is expected to make it feel hotter than 110 degrees.

If you will work outdoors, try and reschedule strenuous activities to the morning or evening. Make sure to drink plenty of water and to take breaks in the shade or in an air-conditioned space.

At least we don't live in Texas. That tropical storm that was supposed to give them a big dose of rain, fizzled out when it hit shore because of that powerful heat dome over the midsection of our country.
