2 Lawrence motorcyclists injured in separate accidents still hospitalized in Topeka

Two Lawrence men who were injured in separate motorcycle accidents Monday on U.S. Highway 40 west of Lawrence remained in a Topeka hospital Tuesday.

A Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center spokeswoman Tuesday said Clinton C. Marker Jr., 61, and John Robert Sinclair, 47, were both listed in satisfactory condition.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said Marker was attempting to pass a semitrailer in a no-passing zone and struck the trailer about 7:10 a.m. Monday 1 mile east of the Shawnee County line.

Sinclair was injured around 12:30 p.m. Monday about 6 miles west of Lawrence when he lost control and his motorcycle came to a rest in the west ditch of the highway.
