Lawrence Police have located a 61-year-old Lawrence woman who had been missing since early Sunday morning.
Police on Sunday afternoon issued a "Silver Alert" for Doris "Helga" Wycoff — who has dementia and Alzheimer's — after she went missing from her son's home.
A Lawrence Police spokesman said the woman was found safe in west Lawrence.
Silver Alerts are issued when an at-risk adult is reported missing.

Having had relatives with alzheimers, I think she didn't remember where she was, got scared and tried to get back to the familiar surroundings she remembered, such as her last home or an even older home. I hope they find her soon.

I stand by my comment. I don't think La Ex was necessarily being flippant. People get out of their cars--so what good would the license number do if she were wandering downtown or in a park.? Just saying--there's no need to be obnoxious to someone if they were possibly being sincere. There are enough people who are blatantly being jerks--be obnoxious to them! They deserve it.

jj14.. they found her didn't they ??? So, I guess a picture wasn't that big a deal!! YOu just wanted to see a picture of this poor humilated woman. 61 is not that old. She doesn't need to have her picture plastered all over the LJW in to make her feel lower than she does already! a person with demetia only has bouts with it. they are not unconcious.
