Lawrence Police have located a 61-year-old Lawrence woman who had been missing since early Sunday morning.

Police on Sunday afternoon issued a "Silver Alert" for Doris "Helga" Wycoff — who has dementia and Alzheimer's — after she went missing from her son's home.

A Lawrence Police spokesman said the woman was found safe in west Lawrence.

Silver Alerts are issued when an at-risk adult is reported missing.

I hope they give you one, because that would really help.

Having had relatives with alzheimers, I think she didn't remember where she was, got scared and tried to get back to the familiar surroundings she remembered, such as her last home or an even older home. I hope they find her soon.

I was more worried about this person being a block away than those kids who were out on the river.

How could the police think issuing a silver alert would help withOUT a picture???? Still can't believe a picture was never posted.
