37-year-old Tonganoxie man sentenced to 23 years in prison for molesting young girl

July 15, 2011

A Leavenworth County judge Friday sentenced a 37-year-old Tonganoxie man to serve 23 years in prison.

Edward Everitt Peel Jr. had pleaded guilty in May to rape, aggravated indecent liberties with a child, attempted aggravated indecent liberties with a child and indecent solicitation of a child. Leavenworth County Attorney Todd Thompson said Peel was accused of molesting a girl when she was first 6 years old. The molestation occurred between June 2002 and December 2004, while the girl was visiting other children at a Tonganoxie residence.

Thompson said Peel also solicited the child several years later when she was 14 years old.

Leavenworth County District Judge Gunnar Sundby sentenced Peel. Assistant county attorney Cheryl A. Marquardt prosecuted.

Thompson said the crimes occurred before Jessica’s Law passed in Kansas. Under that law, defendants can face life sentences for child sex crimes.

I can only hope that he does every day of that 23 years. No parole, no time off for good behavior.

Moot there is no such thing as scum like this being cured. Only way this guy could be productive is if he is turned into fertilizer.

The science is mixed on this, I believe. But in any case, a mentally ill person can only truly be helped/"cured" if they want to be. There are also neurological problems (and trauma) that can lead someone to act on improper and illegal urges - and that's not always curable, even if the offender truly wants it to be.

  1. Aquire .357 Anaconda with Hydroshocks in the tumbler.
  2. Jam barrel end against back of offender's head.
  3. Pull trigger until all rounds discharged.
  4. Mince finely and use for fertilizer.

Problem solved.
