Saline County man gets 9 years in prison for drug trafficking

? A central Kansas man has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison for drug trafficking in Salina.

U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom’s office said 33-year-old Justin Jeremy Barke, of Assaria, was sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Topeka. Barke pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

Prosecutors said Barke admitted to being a member of a drug trafficking organization targeted by investigators in April 2009 that sold methamphetamine.

Two other defendants in the case are scheduled to be sentenced later.
