Earlier this week we looked at three other categories: sweets, quick eats and best place to watch a game.

And we've already previewed candidates for best date, wifi hotspot and bar. You looked at the town's best bookstore and live music venue candidates. Best coffee, burger and place to dance inspired a spirited debate. Chili-heads and Taco Tuesday regulars got a chance to debate the town's best spots for Latin American and Middle Eastern foods. We've looked at candidates for pizza, Italian food, Asian cuisine and breakfast. Most recently, we've reviewed the city's best clothing and hair care options.

I believe the correct spelling of the Bauer Farm entrant is: TAX-Burger.

It's proper category should be: Best double-secret, hidden sales-tax-that's-not-really-a-sales-tax-but-rather-a-kickback-to-the-developer.

Wouldn't that make the name Kickback-Burger?

Actually that's not a bad name. You reading this developers? We could build it in the new development buildings downtown, or on 6th, or in the Oread district, or...

It's BRILLIANT! Just have your people call my people. We'll do lunch. (just not at that Bauer Farms burger joint, the sales tax there is crazy high.)

I'd be remiss not to point out a story we did in 2009 about some of downtown's coolest pets for anyone else thinking over nominees. It has a great photo gallery from Nick Krug:

nice kitty at Sunrise Garden Center. She's almost always on the counter to say hi between naps.

Thanks for catching that. Correction has been made.

We'd like to nominate Scout, our resident cat at The Toy Store! She's one of the friendliest felines around. :)

I agree with this. I ran into her one morning just as the store opened and no one else was around except the clerk. Kitty and I spent some nice quality time together.

715 is fairly expensive but wow, my wife and I have had several memorable dinners there this year. Each and every time, the food, drink, and atmosphere was terrific. it is definitely a place we will enjoy going back to again.

Also has anyone else seen the Great Dane that sometimes roams Willie's Bar on 6th? It's deserves to make a best dog list if there is one.
