Elijah Penny scored 26 points, and Thomas Bachert added 10 as Veritas Christian cruised to a 54-35 high school boys basketball victory Friday.

Veritas improved to 7-2 overall, 2-0 in the Kansas Christian Athletic Association.

“I was very pleased with our defense,” Veritas coach Gary Hammer said. “They had a good team. We rebounded very well and ran our offense very well. You put all three together, and you ought to be successful.”

Veritas will play host to St. Marys at 4:45 p.m. today.
