Kansas judicial administrator Howard Schwartz retiring

? The man who has run the Kansas Supreme Court’s administrative arm is retiring after 32 years.

Howard Schwartz will leave the office of judicial administrator on March 5. A ceremony is planned Feb. 25 in the Kansas Supreme Court courtroom.

Schwartz is only the second person to serve as judicial administrator. He oversaw numerous changes in the court system, including automation of the state courts, implementation of child support guidelines and the development of a case management system.

The judicial administrator is responsible for the rules and regulation of the Kansas court system, as well as other fiscal and personnel functions.
