25 years ago: ‘Tylenol scare’ returns after four years

From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for Feb. 14, 1986:

It had been four years since the original “Tylenol scare,” when seven people had died after ingesting Tylenol capsules contaminated with cyanide. Now, more states were banning the product after at least two tainted bottles had been found. In Kansas, the Department of Health and Environment had issued a warning to consumers to avoid using any Tylenol products in capsule form. In Lawrence, the Wal-Mart Pharmacy, Dillon Pharmacy, and Round Corner Drug Co. had all removed Tylenol from their shelves.
