Lecompton chosen for Community Development Block Grant funding
Lecompton is among 33 Kansas cities that are receiving federal grant money.
The Kansas Department of Commerce announced that Lecompton would receive $311,200 through the Community Development Block Grant program.
Lecompton will use its money to reconstruct Whitfield Street from Seventh to Woodson. Construction will also include replacement of the storm sewer. Lecompton will use $77,750 of local funds to help pay for the project as well.
