Wichita ? A Wichita resident has approached the city about a plan to drop dollars over the city from a helicopter before Christmas. But the city isn’t so sure the giveaway would be legal.

The generous person, who doesn’t want to be identified, called Mayor Carl Brewer Tuesday to ask if there were any city laws against such a plan. The Wichita Eagle reports that City Attorney Gary Rebenstorf says there could be problems with a littering and a permit.

Rebenstorf says the city requires a permit to hold an event with more than 250 people, and it takes 15 to 20 days to get the permit. He says it’s likely more than 250 people would want the free money.

The donor isn’t saying how much money he’d spill.
