Regents’ action

To the editor:

Dolph Simons’ wish that the Board of Regents get more involved in matters at the University of Kansas echoes my feelings with regard to the ticket scandal, football problems and the leadership issue at the medical school. The last time I remember the Board of Regents weighing in on a KU matter was in the mid 1950s when the board denied Phog Allen the opportunity to coach Wilt Chamberlain by denying him the waiver of the mandatory retirement age of 65. And now Bill Snyder is 72.
