Almost $5,000 in copper stolen from GSP

Kansas University police are investigating a theft of nearly $5,000 worth of copper from Gertrude Sellards Pearson Hall, 500 W. 11th St., after someone broke a window open to enter the building. According to a police report, the suspect or suspects then took 10 copper pipes and multiple boxes of copper pipe fittings, valued at $4,950 total. The burglary occurred between 6 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday.
