Kansas City, Kan. — Tonganoxie junior John Lean scored 10 points, sophomore Eric McPherson added nine and Tonganoxie (1-1) defeated Bishop Ward, 49-37.
Baldwin 49, Paola 42
Paola — A strong third quarter and a career-high night from sophomore Cornell Brown helped Baldwin High win its opening Frontier League game of the season.
Baldwin (5-0) will play host to Eudora next Tuesday.
Jefferson West 51, Perry-Lecompton 46
Perry — Jon Denton scored 14 points, and Austin Johanning added 11, but Perry-Lecompton fell to Jefferson West.
The Kaws (0-4) will play Friday at Nemaha Valley.

Kansas City, Kan. — Sophomore Emma Stilgenbauer scored 16 points, including a 5-of-6 shooting effort from the floor, and the Tonganoxie girls (1-1) held on for a 50-46 win over Kansas City Ward on Tuesday night.
Baldwin 56, Paola 47
Paola — Baldwin High’s backcourt combined to score 24 points in the Bulldogs’ first Frontier League action of the season.
Baldwin (3-2) will host Eudora next Tuesday.
Jefferson West 34, Perry-Lecompton 30
Perry — Madison Hess led Perry-Lecompton with nine points and six rebounds, but the Kaws fell to Jefferson West, 34-30.
Perry-Lecompton (0-4) will play Friday at Nemaha Valley.
Effingham 42, Oskaloosa 25
Oskaloosa — Haley Pfau scored 13 points, but Oskaloosa suffered its first loss of the season.
The Bears (3-1) will play Friday at Horton.
