Manhattan ? Veritas Christian team picked up its first win of the season Friday night at the Shea Tournament, a 55-40 victory over Salina-Smoky Valley Home School.

Junior Thomas Bachert scored 14 points and grabbed 14 boards to lead the Eagles (1-1).

Veritas will play Topeka Heritage for third place at 3 p.m. today.
